About The Position

This position will contribute to our Company's drug discovery and development efforts in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) organization at our Research & Development Division in West Point, PA. Candidate will primarily perform lab-based activities and be responsible for generating in vitro DMPK data to guide lead candidate optimization and development efforts. Candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with scientists across the network. They will leverage novel tools and emerging technology to evolve our approach. Embedded in our Company's network, this role will facilitate the seamless transfer of protocols and data across platforms to advance our scientific strategy. Successful candidate will impact projects across therapeutic areas through their passion for generating high-quality data. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong laboratory skills, including the ability to independently execute the bioanalysis of in vitro and in vivo samples, and possess the capacity to contribute to implementing automation to streamline workflows. Candidate must have demonstrated leadership and accountability for setting standards for excellence to deliver high-quality results within established timelines, ability to work in a team environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess an innovative mindset to participate in identification of problems and opportunities to deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related science with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience or a master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Strong background in analytical chemistry and/or biochemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with quantitative analysis using LC-MS or other analytical techniques.
  • Experience handling enzymes, tissue preparations, and biological fluids/matrices.
  • Experience maintaining laboratory notebooks and conducting data-fitting using software packages such as Excel, Graphpad Prism, TIBCO Spotfire.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and collaborative attributes.
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, critical thinking, growth mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ADME-related assays, such as plasma protein binding, metabolic stability, reaction phenotyping, kinetic assays, enzyme inhibition.
  • Experience with cell culture and the conduct of cell-based assays.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Experience with robotics, assay automation, and operation of liquid handlers.
  • Experience working at a research-driven pharmaceutical company or contract research organization.
