Job Description EAG Laboratories is seeking a skilled Scientist to support our analytical services including Electron Microscopy and Atom Probe . We work with leading-edge technology companies across a wide range of industries, helping to design and manufacture the electronics of tomorrow. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, research-driven environment focused on precision and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Scientist to join our Milpitas (Nanolab) team and contribute to high-impact analytical services. You’ll play a key role in customer interaction, specimen preparation, data collection, and analysis to support our clients. A typical day will consist of multiple activities, including: This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All considered applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”) Political Asylee or Refugee Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM (+10% shift differential will apply)

Requirements

  • MS or PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
  • MUST HAVE minimum 2 years of experience on specimen preparation using APT, FIB and TEM.
  • Skilled in handling delicate, chip-sized samples with precision tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled with APT data analysis using customized coding programs.
  • Experience with CAMECA LEAP instrument.
  • Familiarity with automated specimen fabrication using FIB/SEM systems.
  • Experience and knowledge with semiconductor technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality analysis to clients.
  • Prepare TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) and APT (Atom Probe Tomography) specimens using FIB (Focused Ion Beam).
  • Operate CAMECA LEAP for data acquisition and data analysis using AP Suite6 software.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct data processing and reporting.
  • Document and report analytical findings clearly and accurately.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams on integrated microscopy projects.
