About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our growing Environmental Team in either: Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, or Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of experience serving as an environmental consultant and/ or environmental regulatory agent, preferably with experience in projects such as linear infrastructure, renewables, energy, oil & gas, transportation, unique residential/commercial development and federal projects. The successful candidate would lead environmental field studies (e.g. wetland delineations and functional assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, NPDES inspections, Phase I/II ESAs, aquatic habitat assessments, etc.) and document production (e.g. technical reports, NEPA documents, permit applications and support documents, etc.). The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of environmental professionals while supporting a range of multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate would also interface with clients and support proposal development. Knowledge and Experience: · Jurisdictional wetland/ water delineations · Protected species habitat assessments and surveys · Federal/ state/ local permitting & mitigation support · Manage schedules and environmental special studies · Coordination with interdisciplinary teams of designers and environmental SMEs for various infrastructure projects · Ideal candidates are maintaining technical and professional certifications and exhibit specific experience with linear infrastructure, renewables, energy, oil & gas, transportation, unique residential/commercial development and federal projects. Qualifications: · BS in relevant environmental discipline · Demonstrated experience leading ecology field tasks (e.g., water/wetland delineations, protected species surveys, erosion compliance inspections, etc.) and preparing associated technical documentation. This position can be filled as an Ecologist/Scientist I/II/III to be determined by the years of relevant experience of the selected candidate. Individuals with a higher level of experience may apply and will be considered for a position commensurate with experience. · Must have a working knowledge of wetland science, flora/fauna and ecosystems of the Southeastern US, and relevant regulatory requirements · Proficient with GIS and mapping · Physically able to travel and conduct field work on various project sites with challenging field conditions such as steep terrain, thick vegetation, and inclement weather · Excellent technical writing and communication skills with ability to deliver timely, complete and technically accurate documents · Willingness to travel as projects require to include occasional overnight travel · Relevant certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist, Professional Wildlife Biologist, or Certified Ecologist would be viewed favorably · Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work. · Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally At Pond, we are a collaborative, innovative team in an environment that fosters learning and professional growth. Requirements

  • BS in relevant environmental discipline
