About The Position

As a Manufacturing Scientist II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead and implement activities for the development of new and established manufacturing processes for solids, liquids, and semi-solid dosage forms. This role involves project management, technical representation on client projects, and collaboration with internal and external teams to support process development and commercial activities. You will also coach junior scientists and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in product or process development, including scale-up and technology transfer processes.
  • Minimum of 1 year of project management experience.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong critical and logical thinking skills.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading projects related to process development and scale-up production activities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency audit participation and interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement activities for the development of manufacturing processes.
  • Apply project management skills to scale up manufacturing processes and support new product validations.
  • Act as the primary technical representative on client projects, collaborating with various teams.
  • Investigate and validate new scientific methodologies for diverse projects.
  • Create processes and equipment designs for clinical and registration batches.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and make decisions to resolve complex issues.
  • Coach and mentor Scientist I and II on project pathways and technical aspects.
  • Communicate project progress to internal management and clients.
  • Draft quality batch production records, protocols, and reports for product development and validation activities.
  • Support routine manufacturing operations to ensure timely product release.
