About The Position
The Scientist II/III position at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA involves performing customary scientific and laboratory duties with minimal supervision. The role is primarily focused on rodent model activities, particularly in the context of parasitology discovery. The Scientist II is responsible for designing and executing non-routine experiments based on literature analyses, while also assisting in supervising and training technicians and junior scientists. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and compliance with applicable regulations, ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe manner. The Scientist II will provide laboratory support for internal in vivo rodent model activities, assessing assay performance and capabilities to identify and implement new model technologies or approaches based on program needs. The Scientist III role builds upon the responsibilities of the Scientist II, with a greater emphasis on leading innovative pharmaceutical research projects that align with Boehringer Ingelheim's business needs. This position requires the incumbent to contribute to all early in vivo rodent model activities, both internal and external, and to assess in vivo assay performance, particularly at internal facilities. The Scientist III will also be involved in developing guidelines for validation and prioritization of new active molecules based on whole organism screening results, and will maintain strong relationships with key experts to facilitate a collaborative environment for strategic opportunities. Both roles emphasize the importance of scientific inquiry, discovery, and the delivery of high-quality research outcomes.
