About The Position
The Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) is seeking a research scientist to join the Tissue Biomarker Laboratory (TBL). The TBL provides pan-cancer clinical/translational correlative spatial biology studies and is an NIH-sponsored Cancer Immune Monitoring and Analysis Center. The laboratory is dedicated to the development and implementation of spatial analyses to study the tumor-immune microenvironment in biopsies from patients undergoing immunotherapy treatments. Multiplex immunofluorescence workflows include the Akoya Polaris and Lunaphore COMET platforms. The TBL research team works in conjunction with the CIO Computation Biology team on computational analyses to interpret these imaging datasets. The research is highly collaborative with a wide range of investigators across DFCI Disease Centers and other institutions to address their experimental questions. Many studies seek to identify biomarkers of response or resistance to immunotherapy using spatial biology analyses. Over the past 5 years, the laboratory has contributed to more than 50 publications (see https://ciopath.dfci.harvard.edu/ for more detail). Requirements
- A qualified candidate should have a PhD in a biomedical-related discipline, such as immunology, biomedical engineering, and/or cancer biology, and experience in quantitative microscopy or computational data analysis.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with teams and managing technicians is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Initiating and managing research projects
- Overseeing data collection and analysis
- Working with the Principal Scientist and Faculty Director to prepare manuscripts and research proposals
- Collaborative studies involving extensive interactions with histopathology staff, research technicians, biomedical researchers, pathologists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and data scientists.
