Position Summary: SRL is the national reference laboratory for Sonic Healthcare USA. As part of this esoteric testing lab, our staff gain new experiences with a unique test menu within a culture of quality and innovation, where we focus on lean processes fueled by a belief in empowered continuous improvement. The Scientist I is responsible for performing routine and difficult extractions of patient samples and routine analysis of LC-MS/MS or HPLC analytical techniques accurately and efficiently following SRL procedures.

  • Prepares non-critical solutions (mobiles phases and buffers)
  • Performs automated and routine liquid-liquid extractions, supported liquid extractions and SPE extractions or dilute and shoot extractions
  • Works independently to plan and conduct laboratory work
  • Documents promptly and clearly all procedural processes
  • Perform basic maintenance and setup of LC-MS/MS or HPLC instruments
  • Monitors assays on LC-MS/MS instruments of HPLC instruments
  • Independently apply basic troubleshooting skills of instrumentation
  • Help maintain lab by cleaning glassware, taking out biohazard bins, and maintenance of small equipment
  • Assist with filing of paperwork associated with daily production runs
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory inventory
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in a scientific field
  • 1+ year of laboratory experience preferred
  • 1+ years of extraction experience
  • 1+ years of LC-MS/MS experience
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively will colleagues, Supervisor and Manager
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Work
  • Must be able to work with frequent interruption and fluctuations in workload
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate calculations as needed
  • Ability to follow and implement policies and SOP
