About The Position

The Scientist I position at Alcami is responsible for performing analytical testing in support of pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing. This role involves both routine and non-routine testing, utilizing various methodologies such as HPLC, GC, and other analytical techniques. The Scientist I will also assist in method development and validation projects, ensuring compliance with cGMP standards and maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in chemistry or a related field with 6+ years of industry experience, or a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Prior pharmaceutical or CDMO experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
• Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

• Strong knowledge of cGMP in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment.
• Experience with hazardous goods.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing using techniques such as residual solvents, assays, dissolution, elemental impurities, and moisture content.
• Evaluate and interpret generated data for technical correctness and accuracy.
• Analyze information and solve problems requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Write test procedures, protocols, and reports.
• Maintain knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary for assigned tasks.
• Assist in the removal of hazardous waste and routine equipment cleaning.
• Effectively use laboratory software packages such as Empower3 and Master Control.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.
• Safely handle potent compounds and ensure compliance with cGMP and training requirements.
