There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

As a Scientist I in Biomaterials at AbbVie, you will play a crucial role in the formulation development of next-generation facial fillers. This position involves the synthesis, processing, and characterization of biomaterials, utilizing your expertise in medical devices and combination products. You will be responsible for employing mechanical testing equipment such as Rheometers and Texture Analyzers, as well as analytical equipment including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) to develop and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for evaluating formulated biomaterials. Your work will include polymer synthesis, purification, characterization, and formulation processes for prototype fillers. You will also engage in process development using Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) methods for batch synthesis and purification. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you develop ex vivo and in vivo studies to establish pre-clinical proof of concept for designed filler prototypes. You will be expected to enhance biomaterial properties through these studies and establish non-clinical performance testing of formulation technology by developing benchtop characterization and analytical methods. In addition to formulation development, you will assist in setting up in-house analytical studies (HPLC, LC-MS) by undertaking necessary training and implementing methods for detection and evaluation of formulated biomaterials. As the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Lab Safety Officer, you will monitor lab safety and compliance with EHS guidelines, perform periodic lab safety audits, and organize lab clean-up days. Conducting lab orientation and safety training for new team members will also be part of your responsibilities. EHS and Lab Safety Training Certification is required for this role.
