About The Position

You will have the opportunity to contribute to early drug discovery programs as well as new target identification and validation to expand our drug discovery pipeline. This position offers the unique opportunity to directly impact a growing portfolio of targeted therapies in a fast-paced and innovative research environment. Your work will support Blueprint Medicines to bring next-generation treatments to benefit the right patients.

Requirements

  • BS with 8+ years of experience in industry, M.S. with 5+ years of experience in industry or a PhD

Nice To Haves

  • Highly skilled in standard laboratory techniques (e.g. mammalian cell culture) and a wide range of state-of-the-art molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g. RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, immune-assays, AlphaLISA, In-Cell Western, high content imaging (HCI), CRISPR gene editing, etc)
  • Ability to independently execute experiments to investigate the mechanism of action, efficacy and safety of potential therapeutic targets using genetic and pharmacological approaches
  • Familiarity with PK/PD/efficacy relationships and experience delivering PD readouts is a plus
  • Ability to identify, learn, and adapt to new technologies as they become available
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with standard software analytical tools (e.g. GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, Excel, etc)
  • Excellent time management skills, and comfortable with multi-tasking to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, creative scientist with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration. A team player, who listens effectively, invites response and discussion

Responsibilities

  • Lead from the bench to identify and validate novel targets within the oncology and/or immunology & inflammation space to grow Blueprint's pipeline
  • Independently conduct, optimize and proactively troubleshoot cellular screening assays to support early-stage small molecule inhibitor or protein degrader drug discovery programs
  • Proactively employ a breadth of cell and molecular biology techniques, including gene targeting approaches and small molecule inhibition, to dissect mechanism of action
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate target dependency, phenotypic responses, resistance mechanisms, and drug combinations
  • Process, interpret, and present data to cross-functional team members to contextualize findings for the broader program
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
