About The Position

The Role: Entegris is currently seeking a highly motivated Scientist I to join its Analytical & Metrology team in Billerica, MA. This role will be responsible for performing analytical testing to support membrane R&D and the development of new liquid filtration and purification products within the Advanced Purity Solutions (APS) division. The position involves wet chemistry as well as operating a range of analytical instruments, including ICP MS, GC MS, and LC MS . The ideal candidate will be results oriented , collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast paced lab environment. Strong knowledge of general laboratory instrumentation, sample preparation, and safe handling and disposal of chemicals is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry with background/knowledge in mass spectrometry
  • General lab instrument operations and maintenance experience (ICP-MS) ; 1-2 years of related experience or training preferred ;
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS office.
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace ;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic and collaborative working environment;
  • Detail orientated, able to record/analyze quantitative data and make qualitative observations where .
  • Test ing and analyz ing R&D samples, new products , and in-process samples when needed and in a timely manner ;
  • Good communication and coordination abilities and presentation skills Us ing proper controls for analytical instrumentation, validat ing / verifying data and tak ing corrective action when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely .
  • Self-motivated, curious and creative problem solver.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing using instruments such as ICP‑MS, GC‑MS, LC‑MS, and related platforms.
  • Perform sample preparation for ICP‑MS analysis, including microwave digestion and ashing .
  • Conduct routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance verification on ICP‑MS and other instruments as needed.
  • Update, maintain , and follow documentation related to test methods, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Prepare technical reports and communicate testing progress and results both verbally and in writing.
  • Drive continuous improvement of existing analytical methods and workflows.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and instruments to ensure operational readiness.
  • Support senior scientists in new method development and technical innovation projects.
  • Participate in ongoing training to expand proficiency in analytical methods and laboratory techniques.
