The Lilly Health Physicist - Radiation Safety Professional will provide technical expertise for both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation safety and will help build, support and maintain radiation safety programs and licenses that contribute to Lilly’s overall mission across both research and manufacturing environments. The role will be expected to contribute to further technical development and at some point own programs associated with laser safety and control of other non-ionizing radiation hazards (e.g. ultraviolet light, magnetic fields). Implementation will include networking and engaging across the broader Lilly Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) organization to facilitate program understanding and implementation. The role will serve as a member of the Corporate radiation safety team and collaborate with scientists, operations, HSE and support personnel across both Lilly research and manufacturing sites to help implement programs, manage risk and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Lilly internal standards. With ongoing growth in research and development of radioimaging and radiotherapeutic solutions, the position will serve as part of the health physics team to manage support for both manufacturing and research sites discovering, developing and distributing radiopharmaceuticals and providing technical excellence across the organization in support of medicines to reach patients in need.
