About The Position

The Scientist - Forensics and Innovative Technologies role at Bristol Myers Squibb involves providing analytical support for forensic investigations related to drug substance and drug product manufacturing. This position focuses on the characterization and identification of materials, ensuring product quality, and supporting investigations into product quality complaints and counterfeit drug products. The role requires hands-on experience with various analytical techniques and the ability to document findings comprehensively.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in chemistry or related science with 2-3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, or Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, gas and liquid chromatography, and wet chemistry.
  • Experience with scientific software applications for data generation, collection, and processing, including MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements for analytical laboratory operations and familiarity with compendial requirements and FDA regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience authoring technical documents and investigation reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support for forensic investigations involving the characterization and identification of materials related to drug manufacturing.
  • Perform laboratory work to support investigations involving product quality complaints and authentication of suspected counterfeit drug products.
  • Utilize a variety of analytical testing techniques including microscopy, spectroscopy, gas and liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory notebook records and author comprehensive technical reports documenting investigation details and conclusions.
  • Maintain analytical instrumentation and equipment, documenting lifecycle events such as maintenance and repairs.
