At Lilly Gene Therapy, we are developing a pipeline of gene therapies to slow or stop the underlying disease process for patients with genetic disorders, employing recent breakthroughs in human genetics to identify potential disease-modifying targets. Our programs use a precision medicine approach targeting patient populations with urgent unmet needs. The Analytical Development team is a tight-knit group of energetic, inquisitive, fun, and motivated individuals responsible for developing and running robust and innovative analytical methods to support internal and external manufacturing processes, while staying at the forefront of industry standards. We are seeking a motivated individual to take ownership of established molecular biology assays and contribute to the development of new innovative assays for testing gene therapy drug candidates.

Requirements

  • BS or MS with 2-3+ years of lab experience with molecular biology techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Lab skills which may include qPCR/ddPCR, next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, gel/capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, or others.
  • Excellent pipetting technique and general lab skills.
  • Assay development experience.
  • Understanding of analytical method lifecycle of development, qualification, validation, and documentation is a plus.
  • Prior experience with AAVs is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion for learning, understanding, and advancing science.
  • Motivation to learn new skills both inside and outside the lab.
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in support of our internal programs using techniques such as ddPCR, agarose and capillary gel electrophoresis, Sanger sequencing, and NGS.
  • Analyze, document, and report data in a prompt manner.
  • Contribute to all aspects of analytical assay development, from design to qualification, for our gene therapy drugs.
  • Contribute to the development and qualification of new molecular bioassays, including titer, genomic integrity, and next-generation sequencing assays.
  • Perform routine testing for lot release, stability, compatibility and other studies.
  • Write technical reports and SOPs.
  • Communicate data within the group as well as across functions.
