We are seeking an entry- or mid-level Scientist (Algorithm Developer) that has a strong background in Math, Physics, and/or Scientific Computing. The successful candidate will join a staff of signal/image processing scientists and software engineers that support the development of physical models/simulations, data analysis algorithms and scientific software. In this position you will develop physics-based models, create simulation software, analyze simulated and real-world data, develop and prototype new algorithms or enhancements to existing algorithms, and implement models and algorithms in software. The successful candidate will have opportunities in one or more of the following areas: physics-based modeling and simulation, data analysis, sensor characterization, signal/image processing, object detection and tracking, computer vision, and machine learning. This role requires a passion for solving challenging technical problems in a collaborative environment with dedicated and experienced scientists and engineers. This position will be based at our Tucson, AZ office and is classified as a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS in a STEM discipline
  • Strong background in mathematics and physical sciences
  • Significant experience programming in Python, C/C++, MATLAB or similar languages
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with small teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work onsite in the office 100%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Physics-based modeling and simulation experience
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine or Unity development environments
  • Experience with signal processing, image processing, and/or computer vision
  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, object classification, and/orautomated target recognition
  • Experience with optical, electro-optical, and/or acoustic (sonar) sensors and their data products
  • Experience designing software using object-oriented design methods
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, or similar version control system
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Parallel programming experience (threads, MPI, CUDA, etc.)
  • Active Secret Clearance
