The Large-scale Dynamics group in the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences is seeking a Scientific Applications Programmer to generate and optimize programs for the analysis of weather and climate data.
Creates programs and algorithms and develop computational infrastructure resources for organizing and parsing data from large and complex data.
Develops and assist with the implementation of visualization and data analysis methods and codes via API and other methods to enable user interaction.
Writes clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
BS or MS degree in atmospheric science, computer science, or related discipline.
BS + 2 years of related experience.
Proficiency in common software applications and tools, such as Java, Python, Jupyter Notebook, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git, APIs.
Demonstrate knowledge of AWS and Google Colab.
Experience with Unix/Linux environment and high performance computing.
