About The Position

The Science Teacher is a full-time role to Reaching All Minds Academy (RAMA). The ideal candidate would be able to create his/her own curriculum for 5 th- 8 th grade students with the focus of bringing science alive for all students through interactive, engaging lessons. The Science Teacher will report directly to RAMA’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This position will be a full-time position (45 hours per week). The Science Teacher will be required to be at RAMA Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Reaching All Minds Academy is a charter school in Durham County with the mission to prepare students to become productive citizens with the skills needed to solve complex problems, think critically, exhibit positive social competencies, and to function in a highly technological and global society.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching with a focus in Science or Technology preferred
• Demonstrated ability to create own lesson plans
• Candidate must be self-guided, creative and decisive
• Candidate must possess a willingness to be a team player

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work directly with 5 th -8 th grade students
• Manage elective and core classroom schedule
• Able to communicate effectively with peers, students and parents
