About The Position

We are looking for a passionate Science Teacher to join our team! The Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and informative science instruction to 5th & 6th-grade students. This role involves creating and implementing lesson plans that align with state and national science standards, fostering a love for scientific inquiry, and supporting students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Science Education, or a related field.
Valid PA teaching certification
Strong understanding of science concepts and curriculum.
Practical classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Enthusiasm for science and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching experience, particularly in elementary or middle school education, is preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

Designing and implementing science lessons and units that are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with our curriculum and educational standards
Teaching core scientific concepts, including life science, physical science, earth science, and basic scientific principles, through hands-on activities, experiments, and interactive lessons
Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and curiosity
Evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and observations; provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students, including those with special educational needs.
Work with other teachers, school staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience and participate in school events and activities.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education and pedagogical techniques.
Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
