About The Position

Upper Grades Science Teacher Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States. Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is a Locally Authorized K-12 Public Charter school and operates autonomously from the county school system. SCA IS GROWING! Ideally, the selected candidate's employment will begin this school year and will work with the instructional team for the remainder of the school year to ensure a smooth transition to the 2026-2027 school year. Click here to learn more- About Savannah Classical Academy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Teachers are members of the CEO's instructional team and are responsible for duties related to academic programs and operational practices. General Responsibilities and Duties: Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught. Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation. Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation. Uses available technology to enhance the students' learning experiences. Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities. Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO. Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues Facilitates home-school communication by such means as a communication folder, scheduling conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications Demonstrates professional practices in teaching: Models correct use of language, oral and written Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content Implements designated curriculum and grade level standards Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy Assigns instructional tasks and homework to students Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities Complete our online application and send resume with letter of introduction to SCA's CEO- Barry K. Requirements

  • Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States.
  • Education Level: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with teaching certification.
  • Experience, Skill, and Certification: Classroom teacher experience.
  • Knowledge of best instructional practices
  • Ability to successfully lead and coach adults
  • Eligible for Leadership Certification
  • Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught.
  • Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
  • Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students.
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.

  • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO.
