KIPP Delta Public Schools operates tuition-free, open-enrollment college-preparatory charter schools in the Arkansas Delta, serving over 1,200 students in Helena and Blytheville. The Elementary Science Teacher will deliver high-quality mathematics instruction to students in grades K-6. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas state standards, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Arkansas K-6 Standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance mathematical understanding.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
  • Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and respecting all students.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns.
  • Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as needed
  • Write letters of recommendation for students as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education Science or related field required.
  • Standard Arkansas Teaching License in Elementary K-6; or eligible for reciprocity; or enrolled in an Alternative Licensure Program (ALP).
  • Prior teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
  • Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
  • Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE.
  • Strong content knowledge in mathematics; proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching in a KIPP or other high-performing charter school environment preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
