About The Position

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center - The Patriot Support Program, is an intensive inpatient residential treatment program that utilizes social/emotional therapy and trauma-informed care to serve adolescents (ages 11 to 17) of deployed and active-duty military families. The program builds upon the resiliency skills used to overcome challenges in their personal lives. Palm Shores is currently hiring a Florida certified teacher (grades 6-12) in Science and ESE certified. A student to direct care staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, nursing staff, a board-certified behavior analyst, and therapists. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site. Teachers are employees of the facility and not under a teacher contract/re-negotiation. Requirements

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university.
Florida Teaching Certification Required: Certified in a Core Area (grades 6-12)
ESE certification or ability to meet this requirement within 6 months
Other Requirements: Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies.
Ability to work with multi-level/multi-grade students in small class environment.
Computer literacy.
Commitment to facility mission and policies .
Background: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening to work in Healthcare (AHCA) and Pre-employment Drug Test.
