The Science Olympiad - Co-Head Sponsor position at Homewood-Flossmoor High School is an extracurricular role aimed at fostering students' interest in science through a competitive team activity. The Science Olympiad program is designed to promote teamwork and enhance problem-solving skills among students. As a Co-Head Sponsor, you will be responsible for guiding students in their preparation for various competitions, including school invitationals, the SWSC Science Festival, and Regional, State, and National competitions. Members of the Science Olympiad team will meet weekly to discuss scientific concepts, techniques, and strategies, as well as to work on projects that will prepare them for these competitions. This role requires a commitment to mentoring students, facilitating discussions, and conducting science labs to ensure that participants are well-prepared and confident in their abilities. The position is supervised by Gail Smith, the Director of Activities, and is open until filled, with a start date aligned with the 2024-2025 academic year.
