About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors of Richmond is seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable science and math tutors to join our Richmond team. You will work one-on-one with students to support their academic success in subjects such as general science, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and other STEM-related areas. Tutors will tailor instruction to individual learning styles to help students build confidence and mastery.

Requirements

All applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and meet at least one of the following:
Hold a valid Virginia State teaching certificate (or equivalent from another state).
Currently enrolled in a teacher certification program.
Have 2+ years of experience teaching in a private, public, or charter school.
Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. college or university.
Are a Master’s or PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at a U.S. university or college.

Responsibilities

Provide academic support in science and/or math aligned with Virginia’s curriculum standards.
Design and deliver customized tutoring sessions in STEM subjects.
Offer remedial or enrichment instruction based on each student’s needs.
Assign supplemental materials to enhance understanding and retention.
Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to report on student progress and goals.
