Requirements

• Valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CTDOE) certification.
• Current CTDOE Certification #234 General Science, Middle School, 4–8
• Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education or a related field with a focus on science.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.

• Experience with technology integration in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and best practices in science education.
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of all students.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students in meaningful scientific inquiry and exploration.
• Foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity among students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and standards.
