About The Position
Tessa International School, a bilingual and international educational institution located in Hoboken, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced School Van Driver to join our team. Our school is dedicated to providing a rich educational experience for students from early childhood to 4th grade, with plans to expand our offerings in the coming years. We are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and are recognized as a NAIS model school. Our curriculum emphasizes language immersion, with students learning primarily in Spanish, French, or Mandarin, alongside English. The School Van Driver will play a crucial role in our School Van project, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our students. This position not only offers significant career growth potential but also welcomes candidates without prior driving experience. Tessa International School is committed to providing CDL driving training for those candidates who successfully pass the interview and reference check. In such cases, the trained staff member will serve dual roles as both a driver and an assistant teacher in one of our classrooms. The responsibilities of the School Van Driver include maintaining a professional and defensive driving attitude, driving regular routes and activity trips, performing daily pre-trip inspections, keeping accurate records of mileage and student passengers, and ensuring compliance with all transportation laws and regulations. Additionally, the driver will be responsible for maintaining proper student discipline and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle. As an assistant teacher, the individual will assist with classroom management, support the Lead Teacher, and participate in various school activities and meetings.
