About The Position

We are looking for a talented Student to join our School to Work Program in Normal, IL! In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Under direct supervision in a service workshop, assist senior level Technicians with repairs and maintenance on CHASSIS products and Engine repair. Disassemble, clean and inspect chassis and /or chassis components Provide assistance with diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures. Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation General shop maintenance such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, general maintenance, daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports, welder inspections and daily time sheets. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Please note, this full-time, summer internship position is 100% onsite at our Branch in Normal. The Program will start on June 2 nd through August 1 st (flexible based on School schedule). The hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in an automotive shop / manufacturing setting, mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and physically lift, stand, squat, kneel frequently, wear required personal protective equipment as required and operate forklifts preferred.
  • Basic computer software knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be currently enrolled at a College or University, pursuing a degree in an Automotive Technical Program.
  • Currently enrolled in college program related to Diesel/Automotive technology.
  • Basic hand tools required.
