About The Position

School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 425 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music! Our Summer Camp Director embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student experience possible. This role creates a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.

Requirements

2 + years experience teaching and/or working in a camp setting.
Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
Strong organizational skills
Very strong customer relations skills
Resourceful and good problem-solver
Works well with others
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
Good judgment a must
Availability to work summer camps for the full week (Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm). Camps are held the week of June 22nd through the week of August 17th.

Nice To Haves

Ideal candidate is a working musician (actively gigging, recording, or playing in a band)
College level music training/education helpful

Responsibilities

Plan, facilitate and execute the daily activities of the camp and manage the progression of each student. This includes overseeing and also running a rehearsal room and providing individual instruction when needed.
Keep daily progress reports for students
Execute the camp theme of the week by managing the students both on and off the stage.
Create an inclusive environment and manage student behavior. Directors should immediately report any major issues to school management.
Help get new students excited about joining a core program at School of Rock.
