About The Position

Growing Charter School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students and families through preventive and early intervention services within an educational setting. This role focuses on promoting student well-being, resilience, and social-emotional development, with limited crisis response responsibilities . The Social Worker will collaborate closely with students, educators, and families to provide guidance, support, and resources that strengthen mental health and academic success.

Requirements

• Experience working with students in an educational setting is essential.
• Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
• Ability to provide cultural diversity counseling that respects the backgrounds of all individuals.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when documenting cases and interventions.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others navigate their challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with childcare practices and child protective services is advantageous.
• Expertise in behavioral health principles and special education processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive and early intervention support to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention and support plans.
• Teach social and emotional learning (SEL) lessons in classroom and small-group settings.
• Collaborate with teachers and campus staff to integrate SEL strategies into daily instructional practices.
• Educate students and families about available school-based and community resources.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary , with crisis management comprising a limited portion of the role.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of students within the educational system.
• Facilitate workshops and trainings for students and staff on topics such as mental health awareness, emotional regulation, and cultural responsiveness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student interactions, services, and progress.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in school social work
