Under delegated authority from the Coordinator of Funding and Private Placements, the School Social Worker provides school social work and related follow-up services for pre-school and school-age children through the 8th grade within District 86. This is a certificated personnel, 9-month bargaining unit position with salary and benefits in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The role involves arranging and completing social developmental studies, planning and developing social work intervention techniques, participating in conferences, developing and implementing management plans for children, and making community agency contacts. A key aspect is assuring the safety and physical and emotional well-being of students at risk due to abuse, neglect, or crisis.
