About The Position

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate students to determine individual needs based on social, emotional or behavioral concerns
  • Develop IEP goals and objectives and provide direct and/or indirect services based on outcomes of assessment
  • Report progress on goals and objectives
  • Serve as the lead for developing student programs related to mental health and other social, emotional, or behavioral needs in collaboration with the student’s case manager, occupational and speech team members
  • Counsel individual students regarding issues which interfere with adjustment and/or performance within the educational setting
  • Provide consultation on classroom management strategies
  • Provide appropriate outreach and act as a liaison between school, home and community
  • Provide crisis intervention services as appropriate and as requested by administrative staff (such as suicide assessments, conflict resolution, behavior management)
  • Maintain accurate case records on all students regarding referral, evaluation, and therapy services
  • Focus on PBIS campaign including mediation, character education and general awareness of target behaviors
  • Participate in IEP meetings and student case conferences
  • Provide training to staff in collaboration with other school social workers as requested
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships and use appropriate verbal, nonverbal and written communication with all individuals
  • Regular, prompt attendance

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
