About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team to provide vital support to students and families This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on students social emotional development and educational success by delivering direct and indirect counseling services collaborating with educational teams and supporting Individualized Education Plans IEPs As a key member of our multidisciplinary school team you will work closely with families school personnel and external agencies to support students academic and personal growth Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct and indirect counseling services as outlined in students IEPs Complete social developmental studies cultural and adaptive behavioral assessments for special education evaluations Review student referral packets for mental health and social emotional information Collaborate with school teams to monitor and report on student progress Maintain regular communication with parentsguardians to provide support and information related to special education services Liaise with community organizations hospitals and social service agencies to coordinate student services and transitions Participate in IEP meetings share student updates and contribute to treatment planning Support student attendance and provide same day follow up for absences Contribute to professional development efforts and ongoing program improvement Encourage student engagement in school and extracurricular activities Support crisis intervention and implement therapeutic strategies as needed Perform other duties as assigned QualificationsEducation & Licensure Masters Degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or related mental healthhuman services field from an accredited institution Current Illinois Professional Educator License PEL with a School Social Work Endorsement Type 73 OR valid LCSW LSW LPC or LCPC Experience 12 years of experience in behavioral health Clinical experience with childrenadolescents in individual group and family therapy preferred Strong skills in clinical assessment and crisis intervention Knowledge & Skills Understanding of IEP eligibility development and service delivery Knowledge of therapy techniques crisis intervention and therapeutic planning Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace and IEP documentation systems eg Embrace IEP Blackbaud LMS etc Familiarity with childadolescent development and trauma informed practices Must possess a valid Illinois drivers license Adheres to the policies and procedures of Maryvilles Walsh Academy Physical RequirementsAbility to frequently sit stand walk bend and climb stairs Ability to participate in physical activities with students and intervene physically when necessary Ability to liftmove objects or students weighing over 40 lbs Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods Why Join UsOpportunity to make a lasting impact in students lives Collaborative and supportive team environment Ongoing professional development and training Comprehensive benefits package Include if applicable Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion How to ApplySubmit your resume cover letter and copies of relevant licensure to Insert Application Email or Link Please include School Social Worker Application Your Name in the subject line Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity All employment decisions are made based on qualifications merit and organizational need

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or related mental healthhuman services field from an accredited institution
  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License PEL with a School Social Work Endorsement Type 73 OR valid LCSW LSW LPC or LCPC
  • 12 years of experience in behavioral health
  • Clinical experience with childrenadolescents in individual group and family therapy preferred
  • Strong skills in clinical assessment and crisis intervention
  • Knowledge & Skills Understanding of IEP eligibility development and service delivery
  • Knowledge of therapy techniques crisis intervention and therapeutic planning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
