Madison Elementary School District #38 Position Title: Social Worker - ONE YEAR POSITION Length of Work Yr: 9 months Salary Range: $65,443 - $84,995 Placement based on education and experience Department: Madison Simis School Reports To: Director of Student Services and School Principal QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree Three years experience in school social work preferred Possess broad knowledge regarding child development, learning and family systems CSW preferred Bilingual skills preferred PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Identifies school and community resources to support the educational programs. Serves as liaison with community agencies and assists in fostering communication between schools. Parents/guardians and community leaders. Identifies scientifically supported educational, behavioral and mental health services to address school needs. Provides specialized services such as crisis intervention and consultation. Observes and collaborates with teachers, providing one to one feedback to the teacher on individual behavior plans. Assists building administrators in developing best practice PBIS strategies school wide and for individual students. Acts as a behavior support to district resource and self-contained special education teachers. Participates with school teams in the implementation of PBIS. Assists staff in the training and development of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Plans. Serves on system wide committees to address educational issues, safety issues and program development for students. Maintains required clinical records and submits appropriate documents for statistical reports with adherence to program standards in school social work. Provides social work case management for students and families. Attends to training duties as assigned to support the Madison PBIS model with special education students in: typical classrooms, special education classrooms, playground/ lunchrooms/passing time and school buses. Other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Maintains valid certifications/licenses and Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Observes district calendar and all Madison School District policies. Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range. EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Student Services Director and/or Special Ed Coordinator with the input of school principal or designee. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.
