About The Position

Lakeside Educational Network is dedicated to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for students' mental and emotional well-being. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our In-School Counselor Program within the Council Rock School District. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' social and emotional development, helping them overcome challenges and succeed academically and personally.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker or School Counselor.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues, developmental stages, and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and community resources.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and related procedures.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering a positive school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Actively listen to students, ask insightful questions, and create a safe space for students to express their concerns.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to enhance students' overall well-being, resilience, and academic performance.
  • Monitor and document student progress, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to district policies.
  • Advocate for students' needs and connect families with community resources when appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate support services.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.
  • Knowledge and implementation of IEPs.
  • Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.
  • Collaborate with school district staff to monitor student progress and facilitate transitions out of counseling services.
  • Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.
  • Connect students and families with community resources to enhance support systems.
