Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Social Work program. Current licensure and eligibility as a Medical Social Worker.
• Current BLS Certification.
• PEL endorsement required
• SSW endorsement required

Responsibilities

• Help students function effectively in the school environment
• Assess areas in which students may require assistance or mental health counseling
• Communicate with parents, teachers and administrators
• Maintain accurate case files and reports to track student issues and progress
• Assist in remediation by providing treatment plans or counseling
• Evaluate student transcripts
• Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process as necessary
• Role primarily consists of serving IEP and 504 minutes
• Attending IEP/504 meetings
• Writing all social emotional components of the IEP or 504 (student behavior data, IEP goals and benchmarks, and accommodations and modifications).
• Member of the MTSS team.
