About The Position

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a School Social Work Manager to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and direct care within our Whitney Hall School program. In this role, you will support youth and families by addressing non-academic barriers to learning while guiding a team of school social workers and clinical interns. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equitable access to services, high-quality clinical practice, and positive outcomes for students through collaboration with educators, treatment staff, families, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Holds Connecticut License Master of Social Work (LMSW) with appropriate school or clinical experience; LCSW strongly preferred
  • Must hold Social Worker Certification (#071) with the Connecticut Department of Education
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child/adolescent development
  • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team

  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Whitney Hall School Social Workers and clinical interns
  • Serve as the clinical liaison with PRTF programs and participate in evaluations, treatment team meetings, case reviews, and PPT meetings
  • Support referral, screening, and intake coordination in collaboration with school administration
  • Oversee implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and trauma-informed practices
  • Lead case consultation meetings and professional development for social work staff
  • Support treatment planning, crisis intervention, and risk assessment as needed
  • Ensure documentation and service delivery meet agency and regulatory standards
  • Carry a limited caseload when needed to maintain continuity of services
  • Collaborate with families, school districts, and outside agencies to coordinate care
  • Support continuous quality improvement and data-informed program development
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.
