About The Position

Serves students across all levels (PK-12) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention across special education and general education populations. Utilizes knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to provide direct and indirect services that help students and youth succeed: academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Supports and establishes a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student’s developmental level. Additionally, utilizes demonstrated expertise in assessment, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide indirect and direct services to students. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to implement crisis prevention, intervention, response and recovery efforts.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker - DORA
  • Special Services Provider License - Social Worker - Colorado Department of Education
  • Master's Degree: Social Work (Required)
  • Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position, including CPI certification

Responsibilities

  • Effectively plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional programming in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of every treatment/session delivered to students whether direct or indirect services. Information will be documented into either the current IEP system and/or current Medicaid system.
  • Document services for students who are eligible for Medicaid reimbursement if current DORA license is held.
  • Complete progress monitoring and progress reporting to obtain and communicate data regarding student advancement toward goals.
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effectively implement crisis prevention, intervention, and response and recovery efforts.
  • Demonstrate expertise in assessment, FBA/BIP creation, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices, in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide indirect and direct services to students.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements for licensure.
  • Attend district professional development opportunities in the areas of mental health and special education.
  • Effectively provide case management support.
  • Effectively complete safety screenings and assessments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Effectively establish and maintain collaborative relationships with school personnel, students and parents.
  • Document health related services in Designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program.
  • Support and establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to: alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student’s developmental level.
