About The Position

La Grange School District 105 is seeking a talented School Social Worker to join our school team and support our students for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year. Position: School Social Worker - Long-Term Substitute Qualifications: Current Professional Educational License registered in Region 6 West Cook ISC with an endorsement as a School Social Worker; Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus Dates: Immediately through the end of the 2025-26 School Year

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy or counseling services to students in grades K-6.
  • Work cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and service delivery of individual students with specialized needs.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and social-developmental studies.
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide special education services in accordance with IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavior management services.
  • Provide staff consultation on behavioral and emotional issues affecting student participation in the learning process, including classroom observations.
  • Serve as an active member of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support committee, facilitating teams through the problem-solving process.
  • Provide collaboration with and referrals to community agencies and resources for families and stakeholders.
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of students and staff.
  • Supports Tier 1 and Tier 2 social emotional learning in classrooms.
  • Organizes and analyzes the social-emotional assessment screener for general educatiol.
  • Facilitates internal data days with staff analyzing student supports.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement mandated social-emotional programs including Erin's Law, bullying prevention and suicide prevention.
  • Works with and communicates regularly with parents as needed during school hours.
  • Organizes community outreach and maintains community relations to support student/family services.
  • Completes all required documentation, including case notes, billing for Medicaid eligible students, and related service logs.
  • Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
