About The Position

E-Therapy is hiring a Part-Time Remote School Social Worker (LCSW) position in Maine, dedicated to supporting students’ mental health and emotional well-being. The successful candidate will provide social work services to students, families, and school staff, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns to support students' overall well-being and academic success. The position starts in August 2025 for the 2025–2026 school year and offers the possibility of full-time opportunities if the candidate is willing to get cross-licensed in other states.

Requirements

  • Must have an active LCSW license in Maine.
  • Experience in providing mental health services to students in K-12 settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with teletherapy platforms.
  • Knowledge of IEP and 504 Plan development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of students’ mental health, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral needs in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services focused on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, peer relationships, and family conflict.
  • Respond to crises within the school setting, including suicide risk assessments, child abuse reporting, and emergency mental health support.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans, especially addressing emotional, behavioral, and social goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, and community agencies to coordinate support and access to resources like mental health services, food assistance, or housing.
  • Develop and implement school-wide prevention programs and social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives aimed at improving school climate and student well-being.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and school staff regarding behavioral strategies, trauma-informed care, and student mental health concerns.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, interventions, progress, and referrals in accordance with school policies and confidentiality guidelines.
