You will guide teams to deliver consistent, high-quality instruction and behavioral support. Your leadership will directly impact student growth, staff development, and overall school culture. The School Site Lead plays a critical role in creating a safe, structured, and high-quality learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of five years of experience in special education or direct student services
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and reliability in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of behavior science principles and evidence-based special education practices
  • Experience serving as a school principal or in a comparable leadership role within a similar educational environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop staff using behavior science principles
  • Oversee daily school operations, ensuring alignment with program model and compliance requirements
  • Support high-quality implementation of student programming and special education services
  • Serve as the primary liaison between New Story Schools and district leadership, ensuring clear communication, strong partnership, and alignment with district expectations and agreements
  • Monitor and support the overall health of the district partnership, proactively addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive and collaborative experience
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with families and outside professionals
  • Manage school facility, property, and overall safety standards
  • Model professionalism, follow policies, implement feedback, and attend required meetings
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and completing assigned duties
