The position involves providing a variety of secretarial and clerical duties for the principal and school administrative manager. The individual will perform as a receptionist in the school office, handling telephone and face-to-face contacts from the public. Responsibilities include providing information to teachers, students, and the public on school and district policies and procedures, as well as managing confidential materials. The role also includes distributing authorized medication pursuant to doctor's orders and providing minor medical procedures such as bandaging, checking temperatures, monitoring blood sugar, and applying ice packs and splints to students. The individual will notify parents and obtain additional assistance for sick and injured students as needed. The position requires recording, maintaining, and verifying school substitutes' timecards, maintaining official attendance records for each student, and issuing tardy slips for late arrivals. The individual may contact parents to determine reasons for student absences and keep up-to-date files on attendance and enrollment figures. Responsibilities also include handling new enrollments, preparing and disseminating various communication materials, typing and filing documents, and assisting in coordinating events for the activity calendar, including transportation. The individual will collect money, make deposits, issue checks, and maintain related records for Student Body Accounts, assist the principal in monitoring the site budget, research vendors, prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment, submit maintenance requests, and coordinate the scheduling of student services and conferences as directed by the Principal.
