About The Position

This position involves a variety of administrative and office management tasks within a school environment. The incumbent will be responsible for typing correspondence, maintaining a filing system, and communicating with students, parents, and staff. The role requires a high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Typing & word processing skills of 45+ words per minute
  • Basic bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Ability to relate well with students, staff, parents, and community members
  • Skill in office management and coordination
  • Ability to operate office machines
  • Ability to handle pressure/stress and ambiguity; ability to hold confidences

Responsibilities

  • Types correspondence including reports, newsletters, requisitions, orders, memos, etc.
  • Works extensively in receiving, welcoming, referring, and communicating with parents, students, community members, and school district personnel.
  • Maintains a regular and confidential filing system.
  • Places and receives telephone calls and maintains a schedule of appointments.
  • Answers switchboard in switchboard operator's absence.
  • Performs bookkeeping tasks and assists in budget development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal and/or associate principal.
  • Performs varied related office duties associated with a busy, hectic, productive, and smoothly-run environment.
