About The Position

South Windsor Public Schools is seeking a school safety officer for the 2025 - 2026 school year at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. Under the supervision of school administration and the Director of School Safety and Security, the safety officer will help foster positive relationships with members of the school community by being a visible presence throughout the school and school grounds while maintaining a safe and secure school environment. This position is classified as nine and one - half (9.5) months, 40 hours per week. Shifts will begin as early as 6:45 a.m. and may conclude as late as 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday depending on assigned location. South Windsor is a diverse community of approximately 27,000 citizens and more than 5,100 public school students. Requirements

  • Law Enforcement or Department of Corrections experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience with two years of progressively responsible security and/or education experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to successfully complete the certification program upon hiring.
  • Candidate must possess a valid Connecticut Driver's License.
