About The Position

A school-based setting in Columbia, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide full-time nursing support within a disabilities classroom. The RN will work closely with students requiring specialized medical care and will also provide 1:1 support for a student with a tracheostomy requiring frequent suctioning . This role requires strong clinical judgment, experience with trach care, and the ability to work independently in an educational environment.

Requirements

• Active South Carolina RN License (required)
• Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning (required)
• Ability to work independently in a school setting
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students in a disabilities classroom
• Deliver 1:1 care for a student with a tracheostomy
• Perform frequent tracheal suctioning as required
• Monitor respiratory status and respond to emergencies
• Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and caregivers
• Maintain accurate health documentation
• Ensure compliance with school health policies and safety protocols
