About The Position

This employee is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive psychological services. The position involves planning and development of psychological services at the school and district level, including participation in the development of short- and long-term goals for the school psychological services program. The employee will chair Sub-Committee CSE Meetings and Instructional Support Team Meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or above
  • State Certification in School Psychology

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations that include assessment of intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional and behavioral status.
  • Assessment and data collection using formal, informal or non-standardized evaluation techniques including functional behavioral assessments and behavior interventions plans.
  • Interpreting and utilizing assessment data for writing psychological reports and developing written intervention plans.
  • Counseling students individually and in groups and providing crisis intervention.
  • Utilizing the Instructional Support Team as a resource for students.
  • Providing training to parents on topics including child development and effective parenting.
  • Assisting parents in locating available educational information and interventions.
  • Consulting with teachers and administrators regarding specific students.
  • Assisting in the development of teacher implemented interventions.
  • Assisting with school wide programs and providing in-service training.
  • Participating in the development of educational and community partnerships.
  • Working with communities to improve the lives of students.
  • Attending in-service meetings and conferences to develop professional attitudes and skills.
  • Maintaining professional skills through reading current literature and professional memberships.
  • Participating in program evaluation and assisting in the design and implementation of program evaluation.
  • Supervising school psychology interns and practicum students and participating in research.
