About The Position

The School Psychologist will assess students relating to the special education eligibility process and provide recommendations to the eligibility team. This position is specifically for testing only and is bilingual preferred. The role is part of the Methuen Public Schools, which serves a diverse community and is committed to high expectations for all students and faculty.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts license in School Psychology.
• At least a Master's Degree in the area of major study.
• Bilingual preferred - Primary languages spoken in the community are: English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.

Responsibilities

• Conduct special education assessments for students referred for TEAM evaluations and reevaluations.
• Work with staff, parents, and students collaboratively to ensure effective plans and interventions are designed and implemented to support student success.
• Support the school-wide implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
• Write assessment reports as part of the special education eligibility process.
• Participate in IEP eligibility team meetings, including reporting out on evaluations.
• Review Independent Education Evaluations and outside evaluations to summarize and present at IEP Team meetings.
