About The Position

The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive, effective school psychological services in an accountable, ethical manner to address and meet the needs of students. This position involves coordinating psychological evaluations, chairing IEP committee meetings, monitoring referrals, assessing students, consulting with staff and parents, and conducting staff development programs.

Requirements

• Valid SC Certification as a School Psychologist II or III.

Nice To Haves

• RtI Team Experience.
• Experience in administrating/interpreting diagnostic assessments.
• Licensure as a Psycho-educational Specialist (LPES).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates initial psychological evaluations and the scheduling of multifactored evaluation/IEPs committee meetings within state and federal time mandates.
• Chairs multifactored evaluation/IEP committee meetings in assigned schools concerning referred students to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Monitors and coordinates the submission of referrals required for triennial multifactored evaluation within required timelines.
• Assesses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices and completes multifactored reports.
• Confers with principals, teachers, and parents as needed, as a member of the School RtI DataTeam.
• Plans and conducts staff development programs for teachers, principals, parents, and other district personnel.
• Consults with teachers, parents, and administrators concerning students with disabilities.
• Attends professional meetings and conferences to stay updated on new practices and trends.
• Facilitates or conducts individual and/or group counseling, if appropriately trained.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
