About The Position

The primary role of the before-school program activity supervisor is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Spokane Schools students to participate in activities outside the school day. Hours may vary based on student participation. ANTICIPATED START DATE: September 29, 2025 PAY PER HOUR: $28

Requirements

  • Proven experience in education and/or coaching and the ability to safely supervise a variety of ages during activity.
  • Ability to engage students in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt and modify if necessary.
  • Working knowledge of current best practices in athletics, physical activities or program content.
  • Experience leading and working with adults and K-12 students.
  • Working knowledge of current communication technologies.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry/push up to 50 pounds.
  • Current or pending First Aid/CPR certification (or the ability to get certified)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities for groups of youth afterschool.
  • Ensure that participants have proper waiver and clearance.
  • Develop hands on activities that are grade level appropriate for the youth serving.
  • Maintain provided equipment at the school.
  • Ensure participants follow safety procedures in accordance with SPS.
  • Coordinate schedules and procedures with 21st CCLC Site Coordinator.
  • Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with all participants.
