About The Position

The School Operations Manager (SOM) is responsible for managing and executing smooth daily operations of the school Specifically, the SOM ensures core daily systems are effectively executed, student enrollment targets are met and maintained, facilities and technology systems are in good working order, daily student health and safety protocols are adhered to, and daily events logistics are executed as planned. The SOM reports directly to the Director of Operations (DOO) and manages the School Operations Administrator (SOA).

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee key daily systems such as student arrival, attendance, transitions, lunch/recess, and dismissal. Ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently. Ensure the main office is staffed, supplies are replenished, and equipment is in good working order. Manage technology, facilities, and other operational systems, resolving issues promptly. Lead planning and execution of student recruitment and enrollment processes.
  • Communication & Interaction: Foster strong relationships with staff, students, and families. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and respond within 24-48 hours. Support the school’s mission through active participation in student enrichment activities and field lessons when needed
  • Office Management: Manage the School Operations Administrator (SOA), ensuring they meet deadlines, standards, and goals. Hold regular one-on-ones with the SOA to monitor progress and provide guidance.
  • Student Health & Safety: Monitor student health and ensure communication with the school nurse. Serve as an active member of the BRT and assist in emergency or high-urgency situations.
  • Collaboration with DOO: Assist the DOO with special projects, systems supporting instructional vision, and escalated concerns. Report progress and barriers to DOO for continuous improvement. Conduct daily walkthroughs with the DOO to maintain operational integrity. Ensure events and field trips are well-executed.
