About The Position
The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for the faculty position of Assistant Dean for Undergraduate and Pre-licensure Education. The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate/Prelicensure Education is responsible for the administration and oversight of the BSN Program in the School of Nursing. In this role she/he is responsible for providing leadership and authority for program integrity under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate/Prelicensure Education and the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and through collaboration with the Associate Deans, and Assistant Deans, Department Chairs, to plan, implement and evaluate faculty assignments, curriculum, teaching strategies and program outcomes that ensure the achievement of expected educational program outcomes. Candidates may elect different degrees of emphasis on the teaching, service and scholarship components of the faculty role. Rank, tenure, and salary are competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience. Requirements
- successful leadership/administrative experience and success in an academic setting with pre-licensure, undergraduate programs, and seamless progression programs
- knowledge of and experience in nursing education regulatory and accreditation requirements
- be a recognized scholar
- be active in professional service
- possess a doctorate in nursing
- hold active licensure or be eligible for licensure as a RN in Alabama
Responsibilities
