About The Position

Under the direction of the Director, the School of Accountancy Coordinator will serve as the staff lead for department. The Coordinator provides direct support to full-time and part-time faculty and student workers. This position leads, trains, and guides 1-2 staff members and student workers. Duties include coordinating office workflow and serving as a resource person to the Director, faculty, and staff on campus policies and procedures; providing budget support by monitoring and reconciling budget accounts; accessing the Common Financial System (CFS) for requisition processing and budget reports. The position will require coordinating the class schedule building process in consultation with the Director and entering and updating information in the CMS system. Assisting in the preparation of part-time faculty contracts, tracking part-time faculty data, and completing faculty term workload data in Content Management System (CMS). Use CMS to retrieve enrollment information, student advising information, and queries. Coordinating the school’s process for timekeeping, tracking attendance, and reviewing absences for approval. Serving as the primary Department IT Coordinator (DITC). Taking meeting notes/minutes or delegating, as necessary. Providing support for faculty recruitment and professional travel and maintaining oversight of department files. Assisting with the coordination or support of various department reports, the advertisement of special events, forums, and other projects as directed. Providing clerical, budget, and financial support and event planning for the Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance (CCRG), including planning for the two annual national conferences, and planning new research bulletins and webinars under the supervision of the Director. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or the equivalent and three years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support  work or the equivalent.
  • Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
  • Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas.
  • Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference.
  • Ability to effectively write and present own reports.
  • Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels including highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.
